We humans are a resilient bunch. Currently we are in the greatest global crisis that most of us can remember, confronting an unfamiliar foe. And we are doing it by and large in isolation. Some parts of the world have been dealing with this virus longer than others. For many, the worst is yet to come. And yet, inspirational stories of human kindness, generosity, and positivity come to us from all points across the globe.
This post is my inaugural edition of a new series I call “Friday Favorites”. Given that I have more time at home (and thus, to write), I wanted to find a new way to serve my readers. Friday Favorites will be just that – a weekly collection of my favorites from a wide variety of topics.
Kindness During the COVID-19 Crisis
For this edition, I felt compelled to share inspirational stories of hope and kindness from across the globe. I think we can all use some uplifting at this particular point in time. Some of these stories are “big” – like the video of the doctors singing, that has taken social media by storm. Others are small, like the mom in China just describing how life has changed for her family. But all are inspiring and relatabled, highlighting the good in humankind from across the globe.
Click the name of any of the stories you would like to read.
I hope you will take a look at them all, and that they give you faith in today, and hope for a brighter future for us all.

Now, we see music and singing from the balconies as the Italian citizens band together – even as they socially isolate – to celebrate their arts and culture and shared loved of life.

They have been on lockdown for over 50 days, but she is starting to see all the good things that come from this experience”. Learning to see and appreciate the little things in life is something we can all learn from.
“TOO OFTEN WE UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF A TOUCH, A SMILE, A KIND WORD, A LISTENING EAR, AN HONEST COMPLIMENT, OR THE SMALLEST ACT OF CARING, ALL OF WHICH HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO TURN A LIFE AROUND.”Leo Buscaglia

“So, when it comes to positive news about coronavirus, it’s all about switching the narrative from scaremongering, to caremongering. These are some individual heroes proving love and kindness will always win. No act of compassion is too small; everything has a greater impact than we realize.”
