Effective, Affordable Beauty Products For Mature Women

Our skin takes a beating on a daily basis, and as the years go by it begins to show its age. Personal care, and in particular, care for your skin, is part of your well-being. I’ve been fortunate to find affordable beauty products that work well for me.

I use these myself and I feel that they have really helped my skin!

Each of these products is a good solid choice to do its job.

As a bonus, each one costs less than $30!

They can be found easily on Amazon or in most drug stores or grocery stores.

It’s especially important to treat our skin gently as we age.

It’s not about clinging to youth, but rather a focus on projecting our best selves at whatever time of life we are in.

Personal care isn’t just about appearances, either, but also (and more importantly, really) about our health and well-being.

7 Affordable Beauty Products You’re Going to Love

1. Brooklyn Botany Brown Sugar Exfoliating Body Scrub

Let’s start with a product that really does a little of everything.

.

You can use the Brooklyn Botany Brown Sugar Exfoliating Body Scrub as a body scrub, foot scrub, and facial scrub.

It moisturizes and nourishes your skin, exfoliates, and helps reduce inflammation.

Did I mention it smells like heaven?

Other fragrances include Arabica Coffee, Coconut Milk, Blueberry, Lavender, and Sweet Orange.

2. Molivera Organics Fractionated Coconut Oil

Molivera Organics Fractionated Coconut Oil was created to be used for hair, skin, massage and as an aromatherapy carrier oil (is that all!).

Fractionated simply means that it remains in a liquid state, unlike the solidified coconut oil you may use for cooking.

What do I use it for?

Plow & Hearth

Moisturizing my very dry skin! Right after my shower, I rub this oil into my skin from head to toes, every single day. It only takes a minute or two to dry and does not leave an oily feel or stain on your clothing.

It’s addictive. End of story.

Beautiful skin requires commitment, not a miracle.

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

Nothing, nothing, nothing removes every trace of makeup like Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm.

This balm starts off as a solid, then transforms to an oil as you spread it on your face. It leaves your face clean, moist, and not at all greasy-feeling. Just good and clean.

Interestingly, I started using Clinique as a teenager, then grew away from it for many years while I tried out so many other brands. Recently, I find myself drawn back to Clinique and the brand’s excellent product line.

This is my absolute favorite Clinique product.

L’Oréal Paris Skincare Pure-Clay Face Mask with Charcoal

A friend of mine recommended the L’Oréal Paris Skincare Pure-Clay Face Mask with Charcoal when I was saying my skin was feeling dull and dry.

Don’t be scared off by the color – yes, this mask is black from the charcoal, but it rinses clean and doesn’t stain skin, towels, or sink.

Charcoal is a known detoxifier and this mask will leave your face feeling fresh and clean.

Nano Towel Makeup Remover Face Wash Cloth

I was a little hesitant to believe the claims made about the Nano Towel Makeup Remover Face Wash Cloth.

Could it really remove makeup “like an eraser”? Answer: yes it does.

However, when used without an additional cleanser it takes a little more rubbing than I prefer on my face. I now use this in conjunction with the fabulous Clinique Cleansing Balm above. After I work the balm in, I dampen this towel and wipe the excess balm away.

My face is clean and soft and moist and ready for night cream before I climb into bed.

This duo is a dream for mature skin.

CND SolarOil Nail & Cuticle Care

CND SolarOil Nail & Cuticle Care is a conditioning treatment that has done wonders for my rough cuticles and fingernail flexibility.

I made the mistake of getting gel nails, followed by dip powder, earlier this year and the combination just destroyed my nails. I found out about this oil during my growing-out period, and wow, what a difference it has made.

A little lasts a long, long time, too, so don’t be surprised at the small size of the bottle! It is an excellent value!

Take good care of your skin and hydrate. If you have good skin, everything else will fall into place.

Mario Badescu Skin Care Facial Spray

It’s pretty hot here in California, so I use my #1 summer product just about year round – Mario Badescu Skin Care Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber, and Green Tea.

This facial mist is like a little burst of refreshment, and it’s so light and hydrating. I’m addicted to the Cucumber and Green Tea scent, but it also comes in Lavender and Rose.

I keep the travel size in my bag and take it with me to use anytime, anywhere. Love, love, love this stuff.

Final Thoughts on Effective, Affordable Beauty Products For Mature Women

Everyone has their favorite personal care products, and these are some of mine. I like them because they are not just affordable beauty products – they are truly effective. I hope you’ll give them a try – then let me know in the comments if you love them as much as I do!

Remember that any products you try should be used consistently for at least two weeks to really see any changes occur – unless of course, you have an allergic reaction. In that case, discontinue use immediately, and reintroduce the product slowly only after your reaction has cleared up.

Although these products are overall very gentle, it’s impossible to gauge how every individual will react to them and their ingredients.

You might have noticed that I did not include the number one essential personal care product for mature skin – sunscreen!

I am a huge believer in sunscreen and of course it belongs in a list of personal care products, especially for mature skin.

However, I have yet to find my “Holy Grail” of sunscreen – you know, high SPF, smooth texture, doesn’t leave those weird white beads on your skin…I’m continuing my search and if you have a really great sunscreen to recommend, PLEASE let me know!! EDITED to add that I found the perfect sunscreen!

    1. It’s such a great little product, isn’t it? You will love the Clinique Take the Day Off, too (secret tip: Ulta occasionally has it on sale for 50% off, so check there first!) I loved your list, too, and we have many of the same products!
